All courses are either instructor led or designed for individual interaction through computer based training sessions. Pre-registration is required to attend any training.
Computer based self-study (CBT). Description: This course is a safety orientation for contractors who will be performing work in Westar's coal-fired facilities. Topics include: General Work Practices, Plant Access, Personal Protective Clothing and Equipment, Hazard Communication and Asbestos. Elevated Work Surfaces, Electrical Hazards, Lock Out/Tag Out, Hot Work, Confined Spaces, Combustible Dust, and First Aid and Emergency Procedures.
Computer based courses are self-paced and trainees may start any time between 6:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday.
